Data Centres are 'too cold!'

The UK is currently over-cooling its data centres, ac-cording to a leading industry expert. Speaking at a seminar focused on energy use in data centres, Dr Ian Bitterlin of Ark Continuity Ltd, explained that many of the current guidelines on temperature and humidity are outdated, as they reflect the past use of punch cards and other early computer technology.

ebm-papst acquires gearbox specialist

The ebm-papst Group, will acquire the gearbox manufacturer Zeitlauf with effect of 1 January 2013. The technology group based in Mulfingen (Baden-Württemberg, Germany) is thus strengthening its "Industrial Drive Engineering" division.

Passion vs Gravity

During development of an innovative upright unit for the Italian boiler manufacturer BAXI S.p.A., ebm-papst had to go into some uncharted territory. Some success stories begin with a misunderstanding. Landshut Managing Director Stefan Brandl was excited when he returned from his business trip to Italy in February. He had spoken with long-time client Baxi about the use of a special pump, which is currently being developed in Landshut.
