While the whole of the public and private sector are striving to reduce their carbon emissions, and just as importantly their energy bills, fans are often overlooked in the search for energy saving. The reality is that with air conditioning, ventilation, heat recovery and a myriad of other heating and cooling requirements in buildings, fans make up a large percentage of overall energy consumption. ebm-papst is at NEMEX providing information on the potential for energy saving in HVAC systems.
As the world’s leading manufacturer of high efficiency fans, ebm-papst will be explaining how to reduce the energy consumption of fans in buildings by around 30%, with the potential to save even more by taking advantage of the simple controllability of EC motor technology. Their EC fans already meet the 2015 requirements of the Energy Using Products (EuP) directive which will prohibit the use of many older motors.
Interestingly, Special Projects Manager Robert Harness says they won’t be selling anything at the exhibition. “We’re simply giving away free information so people can make informed choices about their future carbon reduction strategy. Pay us a visit on stand W19 to find out more”.
Part of Sustainabilitylive!, the home of five leading environmental exhibitions, NEMEX is the UK’s leading energy and renewables event showcasing innovative technology to tackle challenges within the energy market.
The show takes place in halls 3 and 3a at the NEC Birmingham on 20-22 April 2010.
